ABOUT CARSON NANCE

Mental Performance Expertise. Clinical Training. A Lifetime in Sport.

I help athletes strengthen the mental side of performance so they can compete with greater confidence, consistency, and control under pressure.

As both a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC) and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), my work combines specialized training in sport and performance psychology with a deeper understanding of the person behind the athlete.

A CAREER BUILT AROUND PEOPLE & PERFORMANCE

I’ve spent my career working at the intersection of psychology, sport, and human performance.

My background includes working with athletes from youth and developmental levels through NCAA collegiate and professional competition. Over the years, I’ve worked with athletes individually and in groups, including experience with collegiate athletic programs, the South Carolina Soccer Olympic Development Program, and current and former professional athletes.

Before specializing more deeply in mental performance, my work also included fitness, nutrition, and performance enhancement. That broader background shaped the way I work today: athletic performance doesn't happen in isolation. Confidence, pressure, motivation, physical preparation, relationships, setbacks, and life outside of sport can all affect what happens when it's time to compete.

My goal is not to create a different athlete. It’s to help athletes develop the mental skills to get more consistently out of the ability they already have.
